Porsche GT Team


For the current season, the Porsche GT Team takes up the hunt for more successes on the world stage. Like in previous years, two of the latest generation Porsche 911 RSR will be fielded in the Sports Car World Endurance Championship WEC. In the important US market, Porsche once again faces stiff competition from other manufacturers with its works squad. For 2019, two Porsche 911 RSR aim to bring the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship title home to Stuttgart.

Race cars


Porsche uses two 911 RSR each in the WEC and IMSA racing series at the factory. The 911 GT3 R also competes in the IMSA series, but also fights for points in the Intercontinental GT Challenge and the Endurance Championship Nürburgring. The 911 GT3 Cup is available in all Porsche brand cups worldwide. GT2 RS Clubsport, 935 (2019) and 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport are used at selected club and motorsport events.

Works drivers


With its driver squad, Porsche trusts in continuity and expertise. In the major sports car series, the Sports Car World Endurance Championship WEC and the IMSA SportsCar Championship as well as international GT3 race series and prestigious individual events, Porsche builds on its outstanding talent and the extensive experience of its works drivers. Including the Porsche Juniors and the Porsche Young Professionals, 25 drivers make up the factory squad.

Development programme


Porsche continues to expand its successful and sustainable youth development programme in international motorsport. For the 2019 season, five Young Professionals will receive support in international GT racing. They compete in high-class racing series and at prestigious individual events. Two Porsche Juniors receive training to become professional racing drivers in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup, which runs as support to Formula 1.
